Myth 1
Vanxim residents will be evicted from their homes by the upcoming Project.
Reality
• The land of the 3 Village zones under Survey Numbers 1/1, 4/1 and 6/11 is the property of the Church. Neither the existing
homes nor the land on which they are located has been or will be acquired
• The Promoters willing to give an Undertaking that no residents will be evicted from their homes
• The dwellers who had abandoned their homes and moved away from Vanxim for economic reasons are encouraged by the
Promoters to relocate to Vanxim & benefit from the opportunity that will be available at their door-step with the Project
• The Promoters are running vocational training programs for Vanximkars and those from the adjoining areas of Malar, Divar,
etc in Vanxim since April 2011 through Agnel Institute with the objective of providing the opportunity of employment or the
choice of setting-up tourism related businesses
Myth 2
If hotel project comes, then it will not only spoil Vanxim Island, but also Divar, Chorao and other islands too.
Reality
• The primary concern of the Promoters is to allow the land to retain its unique natural character while creating
opportunities for employment or self-employment
• All access to Vanxim will be by water only, without any adverse impact on the surrounding islands
Myth 3
The massive development features a full-fledged Casino, Golf Course and uncharacteristic structures will come-up as part of
the Project.
Reality
• No Casino or Golf Course is envisaged at Vanxim
• Instead a One-of-its-kind, Environmentally sensitive, Low density, Iconic Tourism Leisure development is planned with
the sole purpose of delivering a complete Goan experience to its Visitors/Guests
Myth 4
The development is promoted by Vijay Mallya.
Reality
• Vijay Mallya is no way associated with the development, either as owner, promoter or developer
